What to expect in Drivers Education

To have a child begin drivers ed can be a nerve-racking experience. We are here to soothe those nerves a little bit. The process of getting a permit can be kind of confusing. A student must be at least 15 years old to be eligible for drivers education. They may get an instruction permit if they are at least 15 and 1/2 and have passed the state knowledge exam. That is the only way to get an instruction permit without being enrolled in drivers ed. If a student enrolls in a drivers education course and is above the age of 15 then they can get their permit without passing the test. They will still have to take the exam to get a license. Once they receive their permit, they are ready for Drivers Education. Here at South Sound Driving School, our course includes thirty hours of interactive classroom instruction and six hours of behind-the-wheel drives. Our instructors are taught to teach with patience and respect for every student. We will never be upset with a student for making a mistake if they are giving an effort. We will teach them the rules of the road, driving maneuvers, safety tips, how to change a tire, check tire pressure, and much more. The maneuvers we will teach them will include but are not limited to parallel parking, backing around a corner, entering the freeway, turning right on red, and everyday driving maneuvers. We will cover all the different areas that people drive in such as city, highway, country, and school areas. We look forward to teaching your student how to drive!
